You guys need to come to terms with the reality Sanji is odas most versatile character/the easiest he can write for/one his favorites
He has brains, has emotional range, mental blocks, is in the monster trio, has connections in the world, has still mystery about him despite getting so much dedication etc. (He is also a gooner like oda)
This results in him getting unique cool stuff (like his solo missions, impossible feats, writing etc)
But also oda will use him to show how and place him in situations that are disadvantageous for him that he cant place others (trying to fight a seraphim alone, a gorosei alone, fighting a HK after taking the strongest pyhsical attack of imu, getting beaten up by enel twice etc.) that he cant place and remove others that easly
You can hope for that in the final arc i guess as for me, this seems like sanjis character conclusion finally that started in baratie, but throttle your expectations.
If Oda ever change the formula it will be end of elbaf i guess, which seems the last traditional arc

Agreed. Because Post Elbaf is literally the end of One Piece as a whole. I think even Luffy will have a character development moment himself before the arc ends.
Gaban was a literal plot device this arc to show where Luffy, Zoro and Sanji needed to improve. Luffy is the only one out of the three that has yet to grow past his weakness.

What are you talking about. It’s just Oda’s stupid ass who loves having Sanji in those situations. Sanji could have easily get away from Black Maria and dodge all of her attacks, but didn’t. Oda needed Sanji to be caught and nerfed him for that. Sanji not wanting to hurt woman should have no effect on how fast he can run…yet it somehow does.

We are not talking about Sanji lowering his Haki so he doesn’t hurt a lady, we are talking about the fact that he can’t run or move like he normally does when facing a lady in a fight apparently…which in fact would even help him with his code, because running away from them would reduce the chance of him hurting them to Zero…
