CineraKishi simply intended for Sasuke to be a mess in execution.
Cinera@Marimo_420, @Natalija I agree that Part 2 Naruto completely destroyed the conception of the character set in Part 1. In part 1, Naruto was going to be a tale of a down on his luck Kidd overcoming adversity, the resentment and bigotry of the villagers and his own lack of ability to triumph over the impossible and make them recognise him.
FinalbetaPart 2 also kinda destroyed the atmosphere of the village of the leaf
CineraRevealing that Naruto was always destined for greatness (son of the previous Hokage and descendant of a famous and powerful clan), was the child of prophecy (the literal foretold saviour of the world) and the reincarnation of a demigod does not undermine the previous conception, it completely shatters it.
FinalbetaThe point is the attention focused on other villages and countries too much in my opinion and the leaf was somewhat overshadowed
CineraIt's so ridiculous one might suspect Part 2 Naruto was a retcon of Part 1. Unfortunately, Naruto was always Minato's son, so the other bullshit was already planned as well. In fact, the true bullshit is how someone with a pedigree as illustrious as Naruto's ever ended up in such shitty circumstances in the first place. It required, incompetence, idiocy and man's capacity for irrational hatred.
NatalijaNo. He went back and forth on what to do with his backstory. Only later he decided what, that’s called backtracking. He wrote the character in and then decided what to do with his background to fit the plot way later.
Cinera@Natalija: Naruto's character is a bigger mess than Itachi's ever was.
:goyea:
Cinera> He went back and forth on what to do with his backstory.
@Natalija: Itachi? Kishi stated that he had always planned for him to be a double agent. The only significant aspect of his backstory that was changed between Part 1 and 2 is the massacre, and him being a double agent implies it was orders from above.
Or are you talking about Naruto? It was heavily suggested he was the fourth's son from the very beginning.
NatalijaNaruto being Minato’s son also wasn’t a plan right at the start, he decided that later as well. Kishi is an endless backtracker :D
CineraHell, I started suspecting that within the first few episodes I watched. I don't think Kishi made up Naruto's illustrious pedigree later on. The child of prophecy bullshit also fits with Jiraiya being Minato's master and training Naruto in Part 1. I think Naruto was always going to be the foretold saviour of the world and basically Jesus.
TheAncientCenturionThe only good Uchiha is a dead Uchiha (and with their sharingans attached to Danzo).
CineraMaybe the anime was different, but when I watched it with my siblings, we started suspecting Naruto was the fourth's son really early into it (like we thought it more likely than not in the first 20 episodes). The blonde hair was kind of a give away. Also Kakashi being Minato's teacher and stuff. Blonde hair is actually pretty rare outside the Yamanaka clan in Konoha.
NatalijaItachi originally did the crime for Konoha or whatever, but how and why Kishi didn’t decide yet. His goodness was only later written in. It’s very forced
CineraI don't see Kishi having invented the concept wholesale later on. I think there were enough hints that it was a plan from the very start.
CineraThe Uchiha hater has showed up to spout his endless BS.
