This is one of the reasons the Yonko saga was so fucking awful. We learned absolutely nothing of consequence that advanced the greater story of One Piece. The Yonko saga was a shit tier gag battle manga with no deeper themes or greater plot. We only just got back to a series with actual plot in Egghead Island and now Elbaph. 
What if the ''world burned in flame'' means that the world was highly advanced civilation wise and like you know like when you see our world from the sky at night its brightly lit due to electricity and all. If you look at the first world you can see buildings that look like skyscrappers near the serpent.
