Also I believe Prime WB > Roger. WB was matching Roger Haki for Haki, swordsmanship for swordsmanhip. I am sure Roger with his high end techniques can produce Mihawk level DC and keep with WB but WB would eventually win high or extreme diff.

I'm sure they are equal. After WB died, the narrator said he was the equal of "even" Roger. Dunno when WB became the WSM. But in the last year, Roger was focused on his journey and was barely alive due to his sickness.

Roger > EOS Zoro > Kaido > Mihawk >= Rayleigh. Even if you consider Roger a swordsman in a sense Zoro would want to surpass, Roger isn't part of the great era of piracy which Mihawk is part of. And if Roger has a power that is even stronger than his swordsmanship that would compensate for the Gura power, he could be separated from the WSS dream anyways.

I believe Zoro/Mihawk are only interested in swordsmen whose strongest asset is swordsmanship. In case of Fujitora for example, his DF power makes up 90% of his power. More so Law. So why would Zoro be interested to surpass them, when he would end up only surpassing their DF anyways.

If Fujitora's swordsmanship was stronger than his DF, then he would be of interest for Zoro and Mihawk.

Idk Whitebeard just seems stronger, Roger didn't impress me all that much in the flash back. For the guy supposedly put on the pedestal, clash between Roger and Whitebeard was hardly demonstrative

Sure Zoro's title doesn't make him necessarily stronger than Roger, but it is logic of Shounen, we see swordsmanship through Zoro's journey, we see his trails and tribulations, his hard work to reach the top and have his name reach heavens. It would be very underwhelming for any swordsman in history to be stronger than him.

Plus Roger has more going for him than just strength, while becoming stronger is what Zoro is all about.

Regarding that Fujitora statement, that fundamentally goes against Zoro's mentality though. He told Cabiji that as long as you hold a sword, I want to defeat you. He carried same attitude towards Mr1, Kaku etc.

Fujitora was of interest to Zoro, he wanted to fight him again even after he trashed Luffy.
Mihawk probably isn't interested in him because he doesn't see Fujitora as a real challenge. It is probably a fore gone conclusion in his mind that he would win

Not sure if there will be a big gap between Roger and EoS Zoro but I would definitely favor EoS Zoro
