RebornTotally! It's amazing. What you liked the most about it?
SentinelI love the unique turn based gameplay and soundtracks and aside of that, the world building is mesmerizing with the way how it introduces you key elements by putting fragments of the story into your path. That being said, the story is definitely the most captivating thing about Expedition 33.
SentinelBefore the end of Act 2, I would say I like the gameplay the most but after that, I have to say the story is one of the best I've ever seen in video games. At first I thought "Ah, it works like Soulsborne games where lore stuff gets handled by random information from items or characters" until the game decided to put everything together in a shocking plottwist.
SentinelReally, the last thing you want to see spoilers about Expedition 33 because it'd destroy the whole experience of following the story if I knew beforehand what happened.
MonochromeYoruDidn't expect the French to actually cook this hard lol
SentinelBro I didn't expect this either, let alone from a team of 30 developers creating one of the best games ever lol.
RebornSo basically it's like Shawshank movie - you just go through it like a normal movie until the climax pieces everything together and whole plot blows our mind
RayanOODon’t ever underestimate the French 🇫🇷 🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
Reborn@RayanOO we can only underestimate something when there's a glimmer of hope .
So, you are safe
SentinelDamn, the French created a masterpiece. I'm done with the game now. There's lots of content for DLC imo.
BlackbeardJust started playing and I'm now over Eveque who is as I assume, the first boss? And had the aura of a final boss lol.
Never thought a turn-based soulslike would reach this gigachad level, though it's obvious the devs want you to focus a lot on the plot. So far it's peak.
Great all-round. Story. Combat system. Art. Soundtracks.
Don't think there's much replayability, but the first playthrough is totally worth it.
I just hoped additional skills were linked to weapons you equip, that and more axons to defeat. I like the idea of axons, top tier bosses that indirectly guard the final area and you can choose the order to defeat them.
Sentinel@Blackbeard How did you like the ending of act 2 and what happened everything afterwards? At this point, I cared no longer about everything else but the story, even when the gameplay was funny af.
BlackbeardI literally closed the game after act 2 when they returned to Lumiere and skipped the cutscene lmfao, thought that was it and act 3 was random side quests around the continent.
That was until I turned the game on again and the cutscene showed them all get Hakai'd. I finished act 3 btw.
I would say Renoir was overused as an antagonist lol.
SentinelI didn't mind that Renoir appeared more often as an antagonist because he was a very well written antagonist and I honestly get why he was doing all these things and I'd also say that he was even in the right, when it comes to his family.
The twist of act 2 left me shocked when everyone got hakai'd and when I found out the truth about Lumiere/this world. Damn, I love when stories are completely unpredictable.
