Jew D. Boy@Tokiro Oumaga You posted what I would call the foremost theory on the subject, I don’t think we can legally have this discussion WITHOUT acknowledging you 👊
Jew D. Boy@Buusatan94 Fantastic point, this would be the singular instance of Oda bringing back a dead character and very few people complaining about it.
NatalijaI wouldn't go as far as reviving. We have enough of that. Just write compelling females too ffs.
Marimo_420@Cinera I disagree. I believe even Stussy has messed up to some degree - as she couldn't finish off the underworld broker guy with a sneak attack. This lead to the tamatetago box blowing up which then lead to PIS in strawhats escaping WCI. Similar to Smoothie, Stussy hyped up her organisation yet failed to do anything of note. I can give some leeway towards her though considering it is cipher pol.
Cinera@Marimo_420, @Jew D. Boy, @Buusatan94: I also wanted Monet to join back on OJ, and I may have bought into the theories and became a genuine believer. It doesn't seem like it would happen, and I think it's for the better. Surviving only to join the Strawhats would be betraying Doffy which would undermine her character.
I would prefer her, Sugar and a few others reuniting with Doffy after an escape from Impel Down.
Jew D. Boy@Marimo_420 A space arc would be killer, but what purpose would it really serve? They’re seafaring pirates, and we’ve already seen them go into the sky once...plus, I can’t think of a good reason why Enel - on the moon, ruling a kingdom like he wanted without opposition from some rubber asshole - would be concerned with goings-on in the lower realm.
bluefire12Monet is cool
Liked her powers and fight with Tashigi
Jew D. Boy@Natalija Fair enough, but this is a female character he DID write well, only to kill her off...is it easier to endear a new lady to his audience, one he could potentially mishandle like most of the rest, or bring back an old one who worked and still has a lot of blanks to fill in?
Marimo_420@Jew D. Boy I wasn't thinking realistically to be honest. I just really wanted Monet back. That's how much of a impact a great female antagonist had on me I guess.
Natalija@Jew D. Boy Who said it would be easy to be a good mangaka? Doing what fans would want is never a good road for any artist.
Marimo_420@Natalija lol fuck Toriyama. He's a little bitch. I heard Gohan was meant to take over after the Cell games as protag, but he got heavily pressured by fans smh. Gohan deserves justice.
FinalbetaMonet has always been an amazing character. She is the only one who went near killing Luffy too since the new world started. :)
FinalbetaWell technically Kaido also could have killed Luffy if he wanted to. :p but that's it basically
Monet@Rosella.Fiamingo
maybe MONET is the exception of how oda use females in one piece .
________
she maybe the only who knows her place in strength in front of MC , and not be a arrogant as others
2 times she acknowledge that zoro and luffy are stronger than her and she can't defeat them .
this is rare in one piece too rare really .
even she know how famous is the SH and what they have done in the past .
H
HaoshokuBack in the day when I was still new to the fandom, I supported the notion that she would join the crew and that she was alive. So you already know what I think. Her and Vergo were pretty good villians.
Marimo_420@Natalija aha not that much. I enjoy anything dbz puts out. It's a mindless battle orgy do idm. But still, on a level, Gohan deserves a lot better than how he's being treated. @Cinera you gonna make a thread ma mang?
FinalbetaOh and by the way never say never about seeing her again :)
Monetoh dammit i want forget this , but its keep coming in front of me
no way that she will join sh now or have side or major role later .
MONET T_T
Cinera@Marimo_420: me giving Stussy a pass would be an artefact of not having read WCI very well. This only makes Monet even more exceptional.
