    Eh, what's effectively porcupine quills that lead to no narratively emphasised moment of physical debilitation ≠ being stated to be significantly wounded to such an extent that it warrants being put into animation and highlighted by WoG. Not that Radahn was 100% HP ofc, but it'd be weird to say he's similarly damaged. It would've been so easy to have them both go through the same motions of recovery for muh-

    Yea Fromsoft story telling is so minimal that you can basically form a lot of your own opinions and in that way the story is very unique to whoever is experiencing it. Generally I interpret Radahn’s “kindness” in spite of being a ruthless warrior, as a commentary on Miquella’s child-like innocence. Miquella-

    Doesn’t know his family the same way a normal citizen of the GO knows them. A normal GO citizen might be terrified of the ruthless Radahn, but to Miquella, a GO Prince who lives a life of shelter and privilege, he only knows his kind brother and not the brutal warlord that Radahn is. A big theme of Miquella’s character is in spite of his huge power, he perceives the world in a very child-like/pure/innocent way and-

    Doesn’t fully understand a lot of what is happening around him. It’s part of not only his physical curse but I believe Miquella also tells us about Marika’s true character and how she herself is also ignorant in a similar manner.

    One can honestly write paragraphs about the thematic weight of Godfrey's transition from phase 1 to phase 2. Genuinely a great character for how little we actually get to see of him.

    A certain someone that I'm far less enthusiastic about is Maliketh. Jorj Martini and Michael Zaki must've collectively used 1,5 of their brain cells to write the lore for this furbait.

    The only thematic purpose Maliketh carries is highlighting how Marika's plans leave even some of her loyal allies clueless, much to their detriment. That's not particularly unique or interesting. And his phase 1 -> phase 2 transition just lacks any and all gravitas, cannot elicit any strong emotional reaction.

    Actual Fromslop material if there were any. Le “Zanzibart, forgive me…” momento.

    The serpent lore is my ER rabbithole atm. Despite them danger noodles being pretty involved in the verse, there's a shitton of ambiguity and room for speculation surrounding 'em. Their connections to GEQ / Godskin seem prominent. And there's even some deathbird stuff that's perhaps intriguingly relevant to them.

    Yep you’re exactly right. The whole GEQ rabbit hole in general has so much depth. I feel like that character almost completes the lore in a lot of ways lol.

    Ngl, the Scarlet Rot Outer God seems like the weakest godlike entity in ER. Jobbing to a blind swordsman and all that smh. Its active tenure in the Lands Between is also not THAT extensive given how Romina fits into the timeline.

    It was also straight up stated in a bonus chapter from like a year ago that no one has ever seen WDM go all out. He guards the city with the highest frequency of monster attacks while staying nonchalant the entire time, and does the job so well that Q City is even safer than Hero Association HQ

    Have started binge-relearning ER lore yesterday, haven't been keeping up with judicious theorycrafting since like the start of 2023, and trudged my way through SoTE without caring much for the lore.

    Any good channel recs? Ones that actually provide sources for their claims, ideally.

    Vaati is a damn joke, I don’t pay him any attention lol. Smoughtown is by far the best loretuber overall. Hawkshaw is good as well but a lot of times Hawkshaw presents random theories as if they are completely canon. Tarnished Archaeologist and similar channels to that are very good as well.

    If you have the time most rewarding thing is imo open up a site that has all the lore entries, draw up a word document and trying to connect the dots for yourself before looking at theories, those are fun too but thats always been more rewarding to me while i played the souls series and BB

    @kekaro yeah, that's kinda where I'm at rn. Quoting item descriptions to draw connections, making notes, etc. This is imo just laying the foundations. I distinctly remember there being shit-flinging wars about mistranslations. Plus, there's plenty of environmental storytelling, which isn't covered by descriptions. Engaging with what the community came up with to get the full picture is kinda inevitable.

    I think this entire Woki affair proved that Zolo fans are the most insane fandom. Most Yonko and Admiral fans acknowledged that Woki is stronger than their favorites, most Zolo fans are still casting Genjutsu on themselves to convince themselves that EOS Zolo doesn’t lose to Ragnir

    Any Morrowind fans? After hearing many diehard TES fans scream about Morrowind for years, I have finally taken the plunge and started Morrowind today. Enjoying the game so far, only about 2 hours in lol.
