CineraIt's plausible that Cavendish's Hakuba is also due to his sword (IIRC it *is* a cursed sword), and Hakuba is a massive increase to Cavendish's combat ability by massively boosting his speed (to the point it impressed even a high tier like Sabo).
CineraFinally, Hitetsu stated that any normal (for Wano standards anyways) swordsman that had used Enma would have had all their haki sucked out and collapsed. Enma releases the haki it drains from its weilder in an attack, and the fact that it can drain all the weilder's haki instantly suggests to me that it would enable the weilder to use more haki in an attack than they can normally use, massively boosting their AP.
CineraWe have never seen a case where someone can literally use all their haki at once in a single attack, and Enma enables that. Even King Kong Gun (which appears to be Luffy's trump card) does not consume all or even most of Luffy's haki. Even in Dressrosa Luffy maintained Boundman for over. 20 minutes, using multiple high level attacks and had been using his haki for a while before then.
CineraHell, King Kong Gun was launched with the haki Luffy could recover under all of 10 minutes. The amount of haki used in KKG really isn't all that much.
CineraIf I were to offer an intuition pump for how I think this works, haki is like energy, and the potency of an attack depends on the amount of energy expended in a unit of time — the "power" so to speak. If we suppose that the maximum power output is say 10% of the total energy reserves, then this serves as a cap on the potency of attacks for most fighters.
HA001The issue with thinking he did a final take all my haki gung ho attack that would have killed himself is he gave both swords to his kids so that wouldnt be the case if he died hurting kaido.
CineraEnma lets regular swordsmen remove that cal by releasing much more than 10% (sometimes even 100%) of their maximum power output as an attack. This is assuming the vast majority of the haki drained goes into the attack and isn't just devoured by Enma.
CineraThat said, there may be limits. For one, Enma didn't drain all of Zoro's haki and bisect the island they were on, so there is probably diminishing marginal returns on Enma the stronger you are. For someone like Mihawk, Enma probably wouldn't be that useful, as Mihawk can most likely already release more haki than Enma would enable him to.
CineraHis haki reserves are vast enough that his "power" output is greater than what Enma would allow.
Alternatively, there may be no hard limits and Enma works as a power up for any swordsman of sufficient skill.
CineraOn the specific issue of Oden, I don't think Oden used all his haki in Emma's attacks considering he apparently didn't pass out after (he was able to leave his weapons for his children). But how Enma operates under Zoro would let us better answer this question.
nik87I think Enma wont be a power-up as long as plot doesnt requires it to be. Since Zoro can control it he wont allow it to suck out Haki unless he wants it to. Haki drain is not an effect you would wish for as it working against you in a longer fight. After one strike and getting the haki back from Enma, Zoro was huffing, that's something he cannot have in a battle. The buff will come when plot convenience allows it aka
nik87in the final strike when he can allow himself to shrivel up and collapse - most likely finishing move against Kaido.
nik87Overall, Enma is only a buff if it can suck out more Haki than Zoro can himself. If max amount of Haki that Zoro was able to put into an attack was 90% and the remaining 10% was kept so he doesnt shrivel up and collapses, then Enma could get those 10% too but only if Zoro allows that.
Enma would offer nothing to Mihawk and would be a nerf compared to Yoru.
nik87Also, regarding 1080 Pound Ho, I think Zoro can choose to combine slashes or not so I am not sure if Shusui's effect is still there post TS.
720 PH against Kaku is probably combined to match his rankyaku, cant be seen in manga but can in anime, however the clash looks equal which should look differently if 2 slashes came from Zoro.
I
Inspector_MuMastering Enma = Emma making him powerful. It is simple, if you need to master something in order to be stronger then that thing is a PU
nik87If only anyone would be able to explain how containing Haki will make him stronger, it would be great...
Cinera@nik87 I don't think Zoro would use an Enma attack that would make him shrivel up and collapse. I mean if Zoro is going to master Enma, he should be able to use it without self sacrifice. Though I guess using it in a last ditch effort attack against Kaido is plausible as well.
CineraRegardless though, I think having Enma would make Zoro's attacks stronger as he could put more haki behind each attack. In that sense, Enma would be a power up.
Cinera> Also, regarding 1080 Pound Ho, I think Zoro can choose to combine slashes or not so I am not sure if Shusui's effect is still there post TS.
Nah, all Zoro's santoryu pound canons since getting Shusui have been a single slash. His 720 pound canon after losing Shusui was multiple slashes. There's really no need to speculate further. Not when Zoro has told us himself that Shusui was swallowing up the other slashes.
