dizzy2341How are the Phantom Troupe fleshed out? I really like their gang. One of my favourite villain orgs, but there's very little to them as individuals outside of cool personas. Explain how someone like Kortopi is a more fleshed out character than like Kiku. And I HATE the scabbards but like the Phantom Troupe, but c'mon.
dizzy2341No, I'm talking about the Chimera Ant arc. How these things just appear in the story out of fucking nowhere and are immediately the strongest beings in the entire known world at the time. Far, far stronger than Netero.

Formerly SethExactly. Phantom Troupe was OP.
Elder Lee Hung@Dragomir im going to pick up the anime where I left off lol. Might as well, I have nothing else to watch right now
D
Dragomir@dizzy2341 I prefer HxH's story for the way it plays out. There's a simple plotline and the way the characters interact within it makes it blend together very well. Yorknew City is probably like the best example of this. While with OP, I think Oda tries to do too much all at once and it leaves things messy.
D
DragomirThough, I guess to be fair, that's a posttime-skip issue. I didn't get that same vibe in pre-skip.

Formerly SethPhantom Troupe didn't need their beloved master to die to have a goal in life.
It's like a ping pong ball with the motivations of PT and Scabbards but PT has more sense than Scabbards.
What they will do after they'll avenge Oden? Become Okamas?
D
DragomirI didn't mean individually as characters, but the entire group overall itself. The way they mesh together with their philosophies and how to take action is well done and better than the scabbards, or any antagonist or protagonist group in op for me.
But as individual characters, yeah, you're totally right. OP is definitely more fleshed out.
D
Dragomir@Admiral Lee Hung good shit. Keep me updated on that dawg. Can't wait for you to get to Yorknew City. My favorite arc.
F
Formerly Seth@Dragomir If he'll not be hooked after Chrolo's requiem I don't know what can work.
And if that's what you're referring to regarding fleshed out, then I'd agree. I really loved the Phantom Troupe. They made York New an awesome arc. I was wondering when HxH was gonna "git gud" and that happened at York New for me. Just that unfortunately I found that to be the peak instead of the new standard.
D
DragomirYeah, Oda definitely has a trend with OP.
>Go to new island
>Find damsel in distress
>Get backstory so main characters can hate the villains
>Beat villain
>Party
Of course there were a couple of arcs that differed from this but this is like the general formula.

Formerly Seth@Dragomir Oh a Princess. Oh her country suffers. Oh I need to help.
KilluaChimera Ant Arc is my favourite anime arc in all of anime. The arc is godly.
Yorknew is godly too.
I didn't like greed island too much
RayanOOYeah greed island is not the best arc at all. My fav is the ants arc but the chairman arc is amazing too
D
DragomirDamn, am I the only one who really liked Greed Island? For me, it was a breath of fresh air after Yorknew. It's relaxing and we got to focus on nen again and how to get stronger. It's my favorite training arc.
Ranking the arcs, my top 5 is...
1. Yorknew
2. Greed Island
3. Chimera
4. 13th Chairman
5. Zoldyck Family

Haki is a poorly done Walmart Nen. There is no fucking way Haki can beat Nen.
