I’ve always just assumed this was the case; there’s no way in hell the carpenter of the future Pirate King’s crew didn’t commit the blueprints for an Ancient Weapon to memory just in case. It’s like Robin surviving Ohara...so long as one person carries the knowledge of history, it is not too far gone.

Thousand Sunny may be advanced but it's nothing compared to the real Pluton. And Franky may possibly need someone like Vegapunk to get the technology and energy to create something able to go againt Pluton.

That’s why he was sent to Vegapunk’s homeland for the timeskip, Buu...he can’t have spent two full years studying the guy’s schematics and only used them to rebuild his body.
