djiayebeeOptimistic & objective rather than emotional is a way of life! 🤙
Cinera@djiayebee: I'm not a believer in optimism. It's not an emotion I dislike or anything, but I don't think I should aspire to optimism:
* If my circumstances merit optimism, I think I should be optimistic.
* If my circumstances merit pessimism I think I should be pessimistic.
I don't believe in an optimism not rooted in reality.
djiayebee@Cinera "I don't believe in an optimism not rooted in reality" > that's why i have added "& objective" 🙃 I know it's not easy all the time, especially in the situation a lot of bad stuff are happening, but I try to live by the belief "if something i really desired didn't work, it means something better for me will happen eventually"
R
RhealunaI'm always feeling better, and optimistic.
Change your mindset.
Cinera> "if something i really desired didn't work, it means something better for me will happen eventually"
@djiayebee: yeah, I don't actually believe that. Sometimes bad things happen, and those bad things don't mean very good opportunities are due for you. I don't believe in karma or anything similar. So if something I really desired didn't work out, then something I really desired didn't work out.
CineraI don't really want to be a mood dampener, but I'm very serious when I say I don't believe in optimism. I don't think I should aspire to be optimistic.
I don't think optimism is some sort of default. A lack of optimism is not a problem. Optimism is not a privileged state of mind.
CineraIf I aspire to anything regarding optimism then:
* I want to be optimistic when my circumstances and available information foretell a favourable future.
* I want to be pessimistic when my circumstances and available information foretell an unfavourable future.
