Zoro never had a chance to 1 vs 1 Kaido before Hakai. Zoro was fine until he had to tank Hakai. What Kaido did to Yamato before he used Thunder Bagua? Nameless swings. Yamato's performance isn't as big as you paint it out to be. Sure it surpasses most of the fighters below YC1s but that's about it.
