I do think that’s a bit too much for now though. Although I’m sure we’ll get more impressive Green Bull feats soon I don’t think we’re going to get a much longer extension to Wano.

Smoker realizes that the Straw Hats represent the true justice he has been seeking all along, and after seeing a Government coverup in Alabasta, then Marine corruption at Punk Hazard, then his own leadership tries to kil him, and then a great cleansing, Smoker then joins the Straw Hats as the final Straw Hat

Well not all of this would happen in Wano of course lol. But I think this would be a great way to end the arc, and would surely piss Sakazuki off which we can assume is coming lol.

The only flaw in your interesting theory is...the fact that Lolda is currently writing this Manga. This is not a bad idea, but tension free Lolda will never approve of it.

Yes because there's no way a great cleansing or anything close to that can happen with Smoker on board. Oda has to adress the few marines that would clearly not be quite and watch how it happens.

Not enough set up for it to happen now. Ryokugyu showing up as is is pretty weird/random unless Oda ties him to Wano or Zoro with a black blade somehow

I’m not sure. I still think there’s a very good chance he’s a “delinquent with a heart of gold” Yakuza trope.
Also, I’ve posited before that he might a mix of Kizaru and Aokiji.
The “unclear” part of Kizaru’s justice/personality may be apart of Ryokugyu and we’re misled by the first showing.
