The Knights of the Old Republic universe is untouchable in the entire star wars era. That's the real star wars imo. Even the stuff created by Lucas can't compete with it.

There is also the stuff with Darth Bane, the rule of the two and Darth Plagueis that are essential to Star Wars mythology. Nothing can replace the events of Darth Plagueis novel as the events happening before the prelogy and this is Plagueis and Darth Sidious/Palpatine's definitive backstories to me.
