I didn't expect you to agree that Mihawk wins. I just think that by powerscaling he doesn't lose enough to fall below high high tier, and he might even be borderline low top tier.
Plus he should still have crazy high DC/AP, greater range than Katakuri and impressive AOE. Considering Oda's intended epithet for him was "Senringan" (clarivoyant) he should be no slouch in COO and may even have FS.

The fight is high extreme diff for the victor, but I personally favour Mihawk.

Any sword can become the black blade.. judging by that logic, the man makes the weapon. It is Mihawks superior armament and observation that will win him the fight. Mihawk has the best case for BOTH #1 armamant and #1 observation in the verse. Swinging Yoru requires insane physical prowess, no reason not to assume Mihawk is powerless without it.

I see your logic, but my point still stands. If Zoro can lift buildings in Alabasta, Mihawk can lift mountains.
Also in regards to the Yoru point, yes, Mihawk is considerably nerfed without Yoru but he still most likely has superior armament haki and observation haki to Katakuri. If Zoro is slicing a building with ease, with a seppuku blade, imagine what Mihawk is doing with a dagger.

@Admiral Lee Hung pre timeskip Zoro could throw concrete houses. Postskip Zoro can probably lift stuff heavier than the Moby Dick. Mihawk should have even greater physical strength. His casual swings can bisect an island sized iceberg, and Brook told us that flyng slashes require monstrous physical strength.

Mihawk hasn't demonstrated FS, neither has Dragon, Shanks, Fuji, Garp. Does that mean they all have inferior observation to Kat? I'm pretty sure the guy with the name "Hawk-Eyes" that Oda was initially going to name "the Clairvoyant" has pretty ridiculous observation haki lmfao. This all baseless for the most part considering we don't have much to go off but swordsmen need insane haki to contend with other top tiers

I think their CoO is easily above Katakuri's. It's just about FS being an highter stage, yet base stats matter. That's why Boa Hancock's sisters were so freaking weak despite possessing haki

I don’t see why Oda’s original intentions matter to what he actually made canon. Oda originally intended for Zoro to be in Buggy’s crew. Does this mean Buggy > Zoro in canon? No lol.

That's a good point, but still, the point stands. There is no way for us to gauge how good Mihawk's haki is but based off of the way I interpret the series it only makes sense that both his armament and observation haki's are far superior to Kat's. Far superior. Swap Yoru for a dagger, he still has better observation which means Kat will struggle to hit him. He still has better armament which means he wins a clash.
