djiayebeenow that is the funniest thing I have heard coz guess what? WE never claimed it for ourselves 🤷♂️ the real question is why Murica calls it French Fries??
I need a history expert in here to convince me which one is true.
SmokedOutDumb American soldiers in WW1 first encountered the dish in Belgium. Because the people serving them were calling them frities and speaking French, they assumed they were in France. The name stuck ever since.
Smoke filled history 😤
BangOO🍅I learn so much today from Smokey filled history 😤✌️
djiayebeethanks for the explanation @SmokedOut 🔥 now, do you happen to know why French Kiss is called this way??
Jew D. BoyWe actually call them “Freedom Fries” since 9/11, because, I don’t know…we were aiming nukes at Paris and somehow hit Kabul instead, then we just kept doing that for the next ~20 years 🫡
SmokedOut@djiayebee Lol I have no idea about the kiss, but I can imagine it also originated from Americans during the war who got their first taste of some creme brulee 😉
