Yes, I would argue, that destroyer of death is even more powerful. As Kaido figured out the ridiculousness of Luffy's awakening, which gave him even more resistance to blunt force and the ability to mold around physical attacks, in order to make the point of Luffy's DF power alone not being enough to conquer the world, as Haki reigns supreme, he started to deal heavy blows to Luffy using destroyer of death.

It's crazy, how Kaido was delivering blows of such magnitude, that the protagonist with an awakened mythical zoan modeled after a God and characterized by having huge blunt force resistance, ended up needing 7 days sleep and blood transfusions even longer that that.
