IMO the Kyoshiro plotline was kind of wasted. Kyoshiro should have remained at Orochi's side and undermined him from within rather than abandoning his 20 years of hard work and joining a frontal attack. It's a stupid decision and poor writing on Oda's part. Denjiro isn't written as someone too dumb to follow such a strategy.

well it wasnt kyoshiro who decided that he should protect the flower capital. Might have to reread some chapters but iirc that was orochis decision anyway, so not exactly denjiros failure or poor writing necessarily.
