This was a neat chapter. Even though it was a man made shark, just the fact that something this insane like a mecha Shark attacking the crew lends more credence to the reputation of the New World being this harrowing place, something we've missed out on after some of the last few island visits...

I don't think it's necessary for Tashigi to be stronger than someone else. What matters is that she is strong in her own right and that there is some pay off in her journey as a swordswoman. Unlike Zoro, she's not trying to be the best, but rather proving her own worth in a male dominated sphere...

I don't think you're suppose to take it so literally. Besides, this was after he had just lost Ace, so he's feeling empty right now. It's a very human thing to feel you've lost everything after one loss. The point, however, is that Zoro helped to remind Luffy he's never truly alone.
