Yeah, it’s obvious that Kuma isn’t completely gone yet… but it does seem to me like he’s “mostly dead” as Miracle Max would say. The ending of that latest chapter generally comes off as a death send off IMO.
Hey now, I've been onboard the Bonney4nakama train for months now!
I just happen to also think that Vivi will be tagging along for the ride soon too, until the series is over and she has to go become Queen of Gondor- I mean, Alabasta.
"About to die?" Nah, if anything, Kuma has basically been...
I do love the subtle tragedy here in that because Bonney needed answers to what happened to her father, she accidentally ensured that there was no way now to ever really 'resurrect' him.
Even if I was getting a bit worn out by the length of the flashback mini-arc, I gotta say, Kuma's journey was well worth exploring. What an ending, man...
:josad:
Yeah, I think this is definitely the route we're going, though I wouldn't be surprised if Vivi's return will technically be temporary again and that she'll essentially leave the crew at the end of the series to become Queen of Alabasta.
Considering he never married Jinny, I think the answer is a safe "Yes."
Love the man, but Kuma seems to have a similar Achilles Heel to Ned Stark- honorable to a fault.
Nah, he dropped her partway during the flashback when the Marines all accidentally shot his arm instead of her. He's off to the side cursing up a storm in pain at this very moment.
:myman:
In all seriousness, I'd assume that she's still being held up by him.
I'm sure this had nothing to do with why there's a vague "and-" cutoff at the end, but I'd like to think the person making that image did so to try and rile up the dormant agenda wars and see who'd be first to the draw between the Yonko, the Admiral and the Gorosei factions to make a guess that...
Yeah, it's worth remembering that Ginny orchestrated what became the God Valley Incident by leaking and broadcasting news of the Celestial Dragons' tournament and their treasure out to the pirate community as a child.
Like mother, like daughter, I suppose.
Honestly, I'm not entirely sure about that. Obviously there is the emotional desire many of us are feeling right now to see Kuma finally get his long deserved win and triumph fully over his enslavers and be the person who saves his daughter. It's certainly a plausible route and I wouldn't be...
Man, it's hard not to get worried about Oda's health and the workflow after reading this chapter. That said, the rough art aside, Kuma's backstory continues to be one of the most emotional narratives in One Piece.
Yep. Gotta burn that hierarchy of power down to the ground. It also continues to cast a rather nasty light on characters like Garp and the Admirals for being complicit in this system.
Furthermore, all of the stuff we've seen in the flashback so far continues to suggest to me that the theories...
