A heavily damaged Akainu because he took 2 full on rage mode attacks from WB which were clearly more powerful than the hit Kaido got here. That Akainu, went after Luffy and was blocked by a bunch of whitebeard commanders including Marco, Vista, Izo and even Crocodile yet they couldn't stop him...

This did need to happen. This is the problem with most one piece fans "uhhh.. bu-but power level!" Secondary characters? Have you even read the arc at all? The scabbards are major characters right now and them being able to wound kaido even just a little bit has a great significance to the way...

Funny I don't see other marines helping akainu here... I do see Izo though, and a bunch of more guys that should at least be on the level of the scabbards.
