What makes you think he's going through the same steps as luffy?
Do y'all not know how shounen works?
Goku has an entire thing about unlocking super sayan, Vegeta is different, Gohan is different, Goten and Trunks just unlock it for funsies.
Y'all take this garbage PU too seriously
Sanji initially went willingly.
And, at the time, Pekoms was the one that wanted to abandon their mission because the SHs helped the Minks, so Pekoms was the traitor there.
What i love the most abou this, is how people gaslight themselves thinking Sanji was at fault here.
Luffy was the one that told Sanji to pick up VEgapunk and run away. He was responsible to cover their exit.
He let Kizaru catch up and kill Vegapunk.

Revisionism at its finest.
I still think y'all expecting too much from this arc.

Also, "harem war" might've been on of the stupidest things Oda ever...
Yes, but then the scabbards immediately spilled the beans and told everyone what really happened.
So the sacrifice was "known".
I always love to bring this flashback to compare. Norland and Calgara.
Both died without knowing what happened to the other. Calgara lost his homeland, Norland died as...
aside from the internet agenda thing, the story itself shoehorned us into liking Oden.
EVERYBODY liked him. His flaws were a mere sidenote compared to how everybody in the story thought "he was the coolest guy".
The overall narrative i dont mind. it was good. but how the character was presented...
