Seriously, it was obvious to me after Luffy fell to the sea, was rescued by Law's crew, and went back to face Kaido that the raid wasn't going to fail.
I can't imagine Wano going another 3-4 years. At this moment ACT 3!! on it's own is longer than every single arc in One Piece apart from Dressrosa, which it will surpasss if Wano doesn't end in the next 10 chapters. It also wouldn't make sense from a story standpoint, we are very clearly in the...
For story purposes Kaido should go down next chapter, or in the next few chapters, but I really hope he doesn't. If he does.. well.. so much for:
"My audience will not be satisified if Luffy defeats Kaido just because his punch is so strong." -Eiichiro Oda.
I think Kaido tanks the attack, they fight for a little bit longer, then Luffy does another final page "This is it (For real this time... I'm not joking) attack." That actually lands and splits Wano.
I started reading One Piece weekly during Thriller Bark. By far the biggest difference is the sense of scale. There were less characters, less chapters per arc, we didn't know as much, and I think that ties a lot into the enjoyment. Pre-timeskip spent a lot of time focusing on the Strawhats...
Yeah Oda really sucks at handling fights. Not only is there serious inconsistencies in haki usage, but Oda also sucks at just drawing fights. The paneling can get too cluttered sometimes, making it difficult to determine what sequence of events is happening. Did Luffy punch then twist, then...
The last chapter I remember where the Spoiler providers were like: "I don't want to spoil this, you need to see it for yourself." was the Sabo reveal back in Dressrosa. If it's something like that, well then...:zosleepy:
Luffy is on a Yonko level, the sky splitting pretty much confirmed it. Also Luffy literally told Yamato in 1026 that he wanted to One v One Kaido which I think will cement his status. People waiting for 'a one v one with both Luffy and the Yonko fully healthy, with no breaks, and no help' are...
On design I'd give him a 9. He is a badass looking character, both in base and in his Zoan form. As for his character itself, I'd give him a 4. I'm not sure what Oda wants Kaido to be. He wants to start a war that will be the biggest war ever, but he's also a drunk that has little control over...
For me it's the Big Mom Pirates. I cannot for the life of me figure out why Oda shoehorned her and her crew into this arc. We're told that she "Wants revenge against Strawhat" for what happened, but he easily could have saved her for a future arc such as Elbaf. So far her presence has solely...
I don't like judging an arc until it's complete and I've reread the entirety of it at once. I've done this with every arc post timeskip in order to get a better feel for Oda's intentions for the arc, and how his execution went. So far though I'm pretty disappointed in Wano. There's way too many...
