For design I prefer Post-Timeskip (only Strawhat that I prefer the newer design) but for character I'm going Pre-Timeskip when he could laugh, he hella serious and stoic rn.

Sure but the theme of their fight is Haki. Also Gear 4 is a Gear that makes Luffy utilize his Haki better, it's basically a Haki Gear.
