1) you can have more than one main character, obviously they aren’t as important as luffy but they’re still main characters 2) if it’s 6v2 who are the 5 people helping luffy? The scabbards seem to be taken out at this point and you’ve assigned all the characters that are heading to the roof...

right but there is also the overarching plot of the SHs (the main characters) becoming the #1 pirate crew, and they have to defeat the beast pirates to do that... if you think oda is just gonna make them fight random gifter fodders and let side characters steal the show then we clearly aren’t...
