Yes, that is the point of a haki bloom. After all, Luffy was able to surpass katakuri' CoA with his inferior CoA because of haki blooms.

Although having greater ACoC than every other swordsman is debatable, as Mihawk has yet to even be confirmed as a CoC user.
I suppose you aren't wrong about the shallow depth that swordsmanship is explored in OP, but I don't think it's fair to say that only swords + haki matter.
I mean, no. An opponent with weaker haki can still surpass someone with stronger haki, hence 'haki blooms' (which in my opinion is more of a plot device for Luffy, but there's also nothing saying Zoro can't experience a haki bloom in his fight against Mihawk). Again, Zoro doesn't just grow in...
Sure, but my point is that the title isn't strictly based on haki. Not disagreeing with the the fact that great haki is required, but rather the notion that having great haki is more important than strength and swordsman technique.
Nah, the WSS isn't strictly based on haki. It's based on Skill, which can incorporate haki. If it was strictly based on haki, shouldn't the title then become 'Greatest Haki User?'
Nope. I don't remember present day Kaido still believing Oden could defeat him.
Also, Oden was still one-shot be Kaido who didn't even use hybrid form.
:milaugh:
You mean a younger, inferior version of kaido?
Oden didn't even force younger Kaido to use his hybrid form.
Mihawk isn't defeating Kaido. Oden is closer to Mihawk than Mihawk is to Kaido.
Obviously Mihawk at MF wasn't trying, but still in terms of feats - he doesn't have the best showing.
Because Kaido is too durable to be one-shot by Mihawk, or really anyone for that matter.

First off, Mihawk ~ Shanks.
Second, Kaido high-diffs Mihawk. It is hilarious to think...
Mihawk has terrible AP feats.
What CoO feats of his surpass Kaido's CoO?
Mihawk isn't even a confirmed CoC user.
Mihawk aslo has terrible Speed feats. Kaido is one of the fastest character's in OP.

Marine Ford would disagree with that.
