Blackbeard is definitely a mash-up of a lot of pirates throughout history and pop culture. His introduction in Jaya was very reminiscent of Long John Silver from Treasure Island. Hell, Ace is basically the Jim Hawkins of One Piece.

Sounds like the show doing good so far in terms of audience retention despite the 2.5 year gap. With season 3 coming out next year, I hope Netflix keeps the cadence of releases similar to that.
