I feel like I've been sleepwalking through One Piece for a while. It's nice to see the return of various characters, like Drake, Smoker, etc., but it remains to be seen if them appearing has any real meaning.

Maybe it's meant to be a reflection of his mental state. He's still ruminating over what happened in Wano, with Vegapunk's revelations added in. If he's the actual head of SWORD, he has to be very careful about what he does next.

The color choices really add to the atmosphere. The layer of Quincy white on Soul Society makes everything look frozen and lifeless, while the red sky drives home the point that something has gone very, very wrong.
