My guess is the marines will have a greater presence in the Alabasta arc than in the manga. Smoker, Tashigi and Hina will get more stuff to do since they're specifically there to investigate Baroque Works. We were pretty light on the marines during season 2 since most of it was Straw Hats vs...
Those baroque works agents that Smoker fought weren’t Mr. 4 and Miss Merry Christmas. That was Mr. 11 and Miss Thursday, the latter of which is only mentioned in the manga. I get the confusion since they gave Miss Thursday a baseball pitcher gimmick whereas Mr. 4 has a batter gimmick.
I finished season 2. Overall it was a straight upgrade from season 1 in almost every regard
- arcs were given the time needed to tell their stories and the conclusion in Drum Island was great compared to Arlong Park in S1
- The new additions to the cast all did a great job with special...
Season 3 needs a scene where Luffy grinds Crocodile face against a fast-moving object like this. After how good Smoker looked, I'm way more excited for to see Ace and Crocodile's logias in this series.
With how the live-action series has been weaving story elements from later arcs into...
I'm halfway through the season and so far I think it's an improvement over the first. Maybe it's because the episodes have a better rhythm with the pacing of arcs and the Baroque Works agents are stronger personalities than Arlong and Kuro.
I absolutely love what they did with Mr. 5 and Miss...
Usopp and Sanji getting paired off during episode 2 reminded me that these two characters barely talk to each other in the manga outside of gags. Their last meaningful interaction was in Enies Lobby I think.
Buggy's actor is so damn good. The scene where he put Luffy on trial and played his lawyer was hilarious, it's kind of original material this adaptation could use more of.
It's shame we won't see Buggy in a significant capacity again until Impel Down which would be like season 7
I was about to say, Smoker's logia VFX looked really cool meanwhile Dragon got the fart fart fruit
Maybe this really is Oda's vision for the characters
One Piece Live-Action is like a second draft of One Piece with hindsight of future events so they're more naturally woven into the story. I'll never forget the asspull that was Sabo and his amnesia that only got cured upon seeing Ace's magma donut hole in the newspaper lmao
Man I hate that Netflix writing for second-screen viewing where characters have announce their intentions repeatedly in conversations. I hope there's not a lot of that this season.
The manga better end by 2030 istg, Oda cannot be dragging this out that far.
The delay of season 2 to 2026 could work out in this show's favor long-term because if the season 4 renewal happens soon after season 2 comes out then the show could be on a release schedule of one season each year...
I think the big change of this season is Miss All Sunday is going to be more involved throughout the first half of Alabasta instead of only appearing once in Whiskey Peak. We see her raiding a marine base in the show which is original material.
you guys act like CGI clouds haven't been perfected for decades now
Skypeia really isn't that crazy in terms of fantasy architecture to adapt in live-action. It's literally just a mesoamerican city in the sky. I don't think anyone's gonna be shedding tears if they cut that stupid giant snake...
Season 2 was originally slated to come out in 2025 but got delayed due to Stranger Things’ finale taking the November-December slot on Netflix’ schedule. One Piece’s season 3 is filming right now so it’s more likely to release in 2027. I don’t think they intended for season 2 to take this long...
