Like the fact he had a theory and wanted to see it play out before committing to a read shows the wheels turning and I think is more likely town than if he had just said "I think juice is town because" If that makes sense

Its more that the fact he was theorizing stuff is a good indication that he was solving The follow up is less important other than, as you said, it had to happen to solidify the evidence that he was actually being solvy
