Usopp gettin captured would work better imo. It could be the start of a char arc for him to learn to overcome his fears. Don't think any of them's gettin kidnapped tho.
Just observin a fact, I'm not complainin abt it so it's hardly cryin. What'd I be insecure abt? Wasn't tryin to diss anyone btw, I'm sayin both fanbases have fans that get easily triggered. Admiral and Yonko fanbases are insecure too. Luffy fanbase too. Basically any big fanbase of a popular...
Ngl it's easy to trigger Zoro fans with the Wings of the PK thing lol, just like it's easy to trigger Sanji fans with the number 4 thing, etc. Both fanbases are too insecure.
It can be argued Law and Kid only got the same bounty as Luffy cause the WG was tryin to cover up the Nikagate. But I think it'd make little sense to give equal amount to Zoro and Killer cause I'd see no good justification for that.
Why makin this a competition b/w Rayleigh and Gaban when the point's only they're a duo? Nobody argued abt who's better, stronger or more important. Don't see why it's so bothersome to say they form a duo, although I guess OP shoul've used manga panels instead of a video game lol.
I think what ppl failed to understand abt the MADS/Vegapunk clones argument's that those groups are defined by their intellect. That justifies their role in the story. The argument was never that female chars in general are dumb, or at least that's not how I perceived it. Ofc there's a lot of...
Nami doesn't appear to be smarter than Sanji imo. But I don't see the point of arguin abt who's the second smartest SH when we talk abt sexism, doesn't mean anything either way.
Like I said, it's the sexual desire involved that matters. If there are chars havin an erection in front of a female body they're attracted to then the female char's pretty much treated like a sexual object. Nobody ever showed any sign of lust in front of Franky or Luffy.
As far as nudity goes...
I'd like to add that I didn't mean your examples aren't disturbing, btw. It's a different matter. Oda havin Robin grab Franky's balls isn't okay at all in my book, for example. I was just talkin about context and intent cause that's what defines the thing we're talkin abt. Sorry if I offended...
Sexualization's tied to the notion of sex and attractiveness. Nudity alone doesn't mean sexualization, it's entirely a matter of context. That's why you can have nudity on a movie w/o it bein considered a porn movie. But when you have a char lusting after another char cause of his looks, it's...
It's really not. Nudity isn't sexualization, let alone partial nudity. Gags involvin lust portrayed by nosebleeds, which is the metaphor for erections, is. And even if you consider your examples sexualization, it's still very occasional compared to the number of times it happens with female chars.
Showin men's torso isn't exactly like excessively emphasizin female breasts and constantly drawin "funny" scenes in which men lust after female bodies.
There might be a lot of dumb or useless male chars but it's all a matter of ratio. The number of male chars's extremely high so some of them are bound to be bad. But when we focus on specific groups, it's more obvious. It applies even to Nami and Robin, they might be smart but pretty much...
One counterargument that I kinda could understand's that OP's targeting a male audience as it's a shonen, but I think male teenagers should be properly educated on the matter so good female representation's important even for them.
Compare BM's portrayal to that of the other Yonko, or Smoothie compared to the other SCs. Also the number of women in any given group (starting with the SHs) compared to the number of men's ridiculously low. No female admiral. Plus the oversexualization of female chars that never happens with...
I can understand the logic. I think there's no way Zoro's beatin an admiral atp but even if he does, the WG might try to hide it and pretend nth happened.
Very annoying but wouldn't say it's intentional. I think Oda genuinely doesn't realize he's bein sexist, it's unconscious.
I'm a girl and I never considered droppin OP cause of Oda's sexism but still, I don't think it should be overlooked tbh.
