They didn’t do much. Because Oda can’t have Kaido take too much damage before his fight with the mc Luffy. So he held Kidd and Law back from using their strongest attacks. On the other hand the paper cut that Ashura gave Kaido isn’t very significant so Oda is fine with letting him take that...
