Eggheads been my favourite arc, and Oda proved his commitment to wrapping things up when he cut back to an occupied Egghead. It's been paced perfectly for an undersiege arc, and the breaks we get from the arc itself have been kino. I guess I understand where the doom and gloom about it comes...
As much as a freed Kizaru joining the Straw Hats to protect his friends would be nice (especially to parallel Aokiji), but there's no way we get a fucking Admiral on our side. Thats too kino, even for Oda.
I dare not say it in the Nakama thread, but I think the SHP might be getting a lot bigger. Just like shanks has his core crew, but also has a bunch of randos mucking about his ship.
Carrot was about as memorable and important as Kinemon and Momo. She was accordingly left behind when the Minks and Samurai no longer needed assistance.
So like Vegapunks dying this arc right? He straight up asked to be taken out to sea, is a massive tech asset (mirroring the Ancient Kingdom), and has been cleared by Luffy to join. Maybe he's more like "heavy cargo" if he joins, or maybe he gets dumped on Shanks next arc....
But if I'm honest...
Wano treated Zoro well, multiple sick feats and clear best swordsman in Wano. He isnt Sanji, his family isnt that big a deal to him.
Conquerors haki was somewhat planned from Ch1. Speaking of, Luffy has been using Conq haki to attack opponents ever since his clash with Doffy.
Crocodile wasnt...
All this analyis still doesnt change the fact that Carrot didnt ask to join, and has accepted responsibility as ruler of the Minks. Which is why I havent replied to any of your posts @Logiko. Thats why your arguments dont mesh well together and requires a lot of mental gymnastics to get to your...
Anywhos I think Bonney has a decent bid to join the Straw Hats based on the Nika/Kuma/Buccaneer stuff and would be a beautiful addition to the main crew. She slots nicely between Robin and Franky power wise and has an extremely useful DF (and the skillset to solo raid Marie Jois).
Not going to...
If he keeps this pacing up (and lengthens the chapters) I actually wouldn't mind. Imagine if Elbaf progresses even half as fast as Egghead and we get similar stuff like Law, Revolutionary, Grand Fleet, and Blackbeard updates regularly to speed up the narrative.
I'm thinking that Luffy can actually de-brainwash people and free them. It's not that he has higher priority, its that he gives them a choice in the matter. In Boa's case of course she was going to help him.
Laws a fruit specialist and he was able to figure it out, I don't see why Sanji couldn't (especially since as a non-DF user he has to rely more on his haki).
Don't tell the other Yonkostans, but I see the Admirals not being at the peak of their strength. I see the Navy becoming their own faction, and unlocking the King's haki during the final war. They all choose to embody their justice, WG be damned.
Honestly its probably that you can't look him in the eyes or directly without taking damage or being glued to the spot. Sanji will figure out that he needs to use haki to counter it soon, like Law did.
A major Straw Hat loss. I guess it would set up the WG as an extremely strong opponent, but it'd be shitty for Kuma's last memories with Bonney/Nika to be a bitter defeat rather than an inspiring first victory.
Kuma is flying in from Marie Jois and slamming into Saturn Red Line style. It's going to be so pog and will buy enough time for Luffy and the Iron Giant to jump back into action. Saturn fucking dies (assuming Oda is serious about ending the series), but before that happens I hope Luffy grabs...
People worry too much about either of these things, Luffy is not a man who looks at a crew member with a checklist in mind. Ussop has a vague dream of being a brave warrior of the sea, and his role as "sniper" is tenuous at best. Musician is in no way mandatory, but Luffy just wanted one for the...
Bonney joining up would be a beautiful way to reward Kuma for his sacrifices, since I can't see a future where he survives much longer. She might not have a dream per se, but she could inherit Kuma's will to be like Nika and support Luffy's bid for the One Piece.
I mean are you telling me that one G5 burst is enough to put down Kaido without any help from the Minks, Samurai, Yamato, Kidd, Law, Killer, Zoro? Like as soon as Luffy uses G5 the fight is on a hard timer unless Kaido just lets him take a nap.
