Unless VP's announcement shakes him to his very core i don't see him turning sides and sacrificiing himself. If anything i could see the Gorosei themselves killing him in a fit of rage for supposedly failing his mission once the SHs escape. I get that he's conflicted but i feel like people fail...

Seems like a stretch, so far Kizaru's beams have been used pretty much exclusively for damage. Plus cauterizing a gaping hole that big wouldn't really work, you'd be burning too much flesh and causing more internal damage, otherwise Akainu would have basically cauterized Ace's wound right away lol

G5 is actually kinda creepy now that i think about it. Luffy is clearly still serious about his intentions and situations, just look at the panel where he spoke Pedro's name or even in this chapter right before he punches Saturn. But G5 will literally just force him to smile and laugh through...

G5 is great when used as a sort of "Cavalry" moment where the tides turn on the bad guys honestly. I think the main concern people have with it is when we come to a situation where it would be more satisfying to see Luffy angry and/or serious, like if he fights Akainu.
