The first world ended 600 years ago before void century. Elbaph might have been born within this period and live up to void century. He killed the flame serpent which got him the title God of War, and fought Imu during the void century. So the time should be correct.
I have seen many deduction and did a lot of deduction myself. Honestly, I say he doesn't give me the "Wow" factor or "refreshing" factor, something that I have never seen before. It's like "Oh yeah that's about right".

Oda is slowly building the fight by not having Loki transforms into hybrid immediately. Right now hybrid Imu is more agile than base Loki which makes Loki struggle to keep up. We will see hybrid Loki in next chapter or after that.
