I loved seeing the characters but that was it.
We didn't learn really anything that we didn't already know. It felt more like a montage of moments than an actual story. No scene was allowed to play out to be interesting it just felt like a series of boxes being checked by Oda. "Need...
Since the timeskip One Piece has lost its soul. It now relies only on world building and character designs/reveals to remain interesting. Occasionally there are moments that harken back to before but it's few and far between.
I hope he is and when Jinbe sees Big Mom we get a more flushed out explanation.
Or it's just Oda trying to wrap up plot lines...which would be anticlimactic to me.
I'm a huge Jinbe fan and found it lack luster. I'm glad he's back but Oda needs to explain why he's been excluded from the crew for so long and what he's lost. It better be something more interesting than "Jinbe can't join right now".
