He is a modified human so we could suppose in his DNA the fire attributes of a lunarian were added together with the other stuff. I'll say this at the end of the manga the marine will still be around under either aokiji or fuji. My guess is that both akainu an aokiji had in mind the complete reformation of the Navy under their direct rule and not under the nobles as both of them have don't like beeing under their control.- MasterD
