In terms of franchise popularity, One Piece is at its peak yes. Other aspects are debatable though.
I really believe the live-action series is going to have a big effect on the wider One Piece franchise, the games will start selling better and movies will do better at the box-office.
I would hope Smoker finally does something in the story but I wouldn't be surprised if Oda just has him cameo with the marine fleet on Egghead while the new vice-admirals like Doll take center stage. Basically what Tashigi was on Fullalead, she was just there to remind you she exists while Koby...
Obviously Zoro can't do named moves in three-sword style so it makes sense that Lion's Song would be his first named attack in the live-action series. That's gonna be a very impactful moment in season 2 since Zoro is built-up as the most stonefaced serious member of the crew.

So were Teach, Daz Bonez, Kuma, etc. Oda colors everyone with the same light skintone despite how most people consider them to be of a darker ethnicity. Nojiko and Lucky Roux were not race changed by being played by black actors.
Netflix has actually been announcing season renewals while the strikes are going on, they just can’t go into actual production and serves more to line-up future projects
Bro is just trolling, the co-ceo of Netflix said the show is a success and cleared a high bar because most manga adaptations have been trash. It’s getting a season 2
