Shanks is going to be very powerful Haki user and DF user.

Power system in OP is great. Normally, author creates special abilities, that can be attained only by chosen few, like Ki, Reshi or Chakra. In OP anyone can be power user. Shanks being DF is not something that will take anything from his character.

I'm very curious how Oda is going to handle him. First, when he lost his arm to sea monster, Oda didn't know how Shanks is going to fight. Its possible that go back and forth with his abilities. Second, all Yonkou have DFs and at least two of them are physically superior than he is. Third...
