Always lower your expectations when it comes to Oda and plot armor.

I think it’s going to be a combo of Luffy and co holding him off + his body getting nerfed over time (he’s bleeding internally hence coughing up blood from time to time) + the toll of losing his HKs on Elbaph.

That would be a neat detail, hmm.

Could also be because Imu just can’t take being in the lower world anymore.

Something along the line of when it comes down to it, Oda will favor narrative over consistent powerscaling. Hajrudin had formed a wish to avenge his father and take down Imu the chapter prior to this one. So Oda was building up to him doing something relevant against Imu.

0 clue, I read Marcos translation and there is no mention of Imu dodging anything. He seems to have taken the entire thing.
