I just take that love shit as a metaphor for his passion. It could be what drives the strength of his power but the source are just his germs genes and whatever judge did to him.

If he was going to give it to him I’d have liked some more foreshadowing. Especially considering his dream didn’t require being the best at something. For example there had been hints about Zoro being a conqueror since pre ts.
