Could just be that Lucci isn't on Zoro's level/isn't meant to be Zoro's biggest performance in the arc.
Lucci didn't get to show his strongest attacks vs Luffy either.
If Oda had more in plan for Zoro, it makes sense he won't want to stretch out the Lucci fight too long.
Aah yeah, Lucci hyping up their haki is a good point in their favour given he fought Luffy and was already aware of Borsalino's presence.

Yamato and Linlin did to Ulti (though she got back up after).
Ulti wasn't awakened either. Makes it all the more impressive that Zoro put down an Awakened Zoan.
Though TBH, Shanks halfshotting a 3B pirate had a bigger wow factor. Especially when you compare how far Law pushed Blackbeard.
Yeah, I don't think the spoilers are enough to conclusively say Zoro's portrayal is better.
I'd wait for the raws, but if Zoro oneshots Lucci without using his Wano power up (vs Luffy using his strongest Wano power up and multiple named attacks to temporarily KO Lucci), I do think Zoro looks...
Yeah, I haven't been saying Base Zoro > Nika like some other Zoro fans.
I don't think anyone expects Zoro to defeat Nasujuro this arc.
It would be narratively weird to introduce him like this only for him to be immediately defeated.
I'm guessing the Gorosei won't be defeated here.
Probably just different standards for "fodder".
I agree that Luffy dominated Lucci, but he used his strongest form to do so, Lucci was able to clash equally on one occasion and survived several named attacks before Luffy eventually put him down (and even then, only for like a minute or two)...
Moving on.
I haven't been following Egghead too closely, what's the consensus on Gorosei's strength? How strong is Saturn? How does he compare to Borsalino and to Nika?

Probably best to wait for raws/scans TBH.
Vs King we saw Zoro activate King of Hell before he began using King of Hell techniques.
And King of Hell has a distinct visual appearance, so if Pew said it's not King of Hell, it probably doesn't resemble the visual appearance we saw vs King.
But...
So Zoro clears Lucci once he actually uses a named attack.
The fight was long, but duration of off panel fights don't matter that much (see e.g. Zoro vs Beetle Gifter).
Once Oda decided to focus on the fight, and the characters involved used named attacks Zoro quickly dispatched Lucci. I don't...
I don't think I claimed Yamato is Mid Top Tier.
I did place her as a low Top Tier, and I stand by the assessment that she's above the likes of King.
Lucci's performance against Gear 5 Luffy places him well above Queen let alone Jack.
Lucci is relative to YC 1s like Katakuri/Marco.
Yeah Shishi Sonson doesn't take a significant toll on Zoro, but it demonstrates Zoro exerting considerable effort as it was one of his strongest techniques at the time.
It's like current Zoro using Dragon Damnation; even if the battle is a oneshot and Zoro is not exhausted afterwards, that's...
TBH, based on the early spoilers it sounds like we don't get much of a fight between Zoro and Lucci and Zoro just oneshotted him once he used a named attack.
That's not really a good fight (compare Zoro vs King, Kaku, Daz Bones, etc.). It's only "hype" because of the fandom agenda...
Post Alabasta Zoro can oneshot Mr. 1 with Shishi Sonson yeah.
Though I wouldn't necessarily call a fight where you have to use one of your highest end techniques low diff, but people say Shanks low diffed Kidd so I guess it's fair.
