What do you make of the strength Kan Ki's bandits showed against Ri Boku's elites?

Very good point. I don't think the bandits escape any mountain folk traps with anything less than devastating losses, if they manage to escape at all.

They have invisibility in common and that's it. There's nothing interesting there to link them. Lafitte is the closest analogue they have.

Question for everyone: How many out of 160K men can Tou lose and win for losses to still be considered minimal? I'm thinking they'd like to keep it under 20K, can live with 30K, get alarmed at 40K, and consider it an outright failure to minimalise losses by that.

Nika is undisputedly the best Zoan. It has the power to manipulate and alter reality in real time. Nothing trumps that.
