We're talking about a neg diff here, any character stronger than Sanji can neg diff characters he neg diffs, matchup issues aside. Two characters being significantly stronger than HKs doesn't mean said characters are equal. With that logic, you might as well put Sanji on Loki/G5 Luffy's level.

Bro, it's not ambiguous. Hyogoro explained it clearly: Hardening is the basic level, not an advanced one. Sanji doesn't have the blackening effect to highlight his CoA because he wears black clothes most of the time, so it's impractical. Same with Kaido, who relied on his jet black kanabo...

There was no need to show it clearly, him having CoA was already confirmation he could use hardening. Hardening is just basic CoA. We could never see it with Kaido either, it's just a stylistic choice.

Yeah, it's odd because the lower the number, the stronger they're supposed to be. Yet Gero was stronger than 19. He made 19 out of a doll decorating his lab, he's 100% non-human like 16.

Android 19 was the fat one, Dr. Gero was Android 20.

Yep, and 19 and 20 were supposed to be the big villains. The editor said nope and we got 17 and 18, who were still not threatening enough for the editor. So we got Cell. Android 17 is hands down the best character of the Android saga.
