I don’t think it’s lazy at all. Themed naming lets Oda convey rank and faction identity which is useful in such a huge cast. For example King/Queen/Jack which immediately imply that they’re a squad, and we know the pecking order.

Money does scale up resources and reach no denying that. But with the Ope Ope, the skill set itself is the ultimate resource. The fruit will turn me into some kind of mad sci-fi miracle worker. Honestly, who cares about resources when I can just walk into the ER and casually rewrite biology? I...
