I always thought at best Shanks is a morally gray character whose sole purpose is keeping the balance of the world (stopping Kaido from entering the war, stopping BB from conquering the world...etc), and not outright an "Obito" of the One Piece. Seems like Oda wants to keep his Golden Boy as...
