Because that’s how stories work
the reason we are following this story of this character at this time is because this is supposed to be the most important part of their life
Oda could have just as easily swapped Zoro and Jimbei in the narrative otherwise right?
zoro gets introduced as a...
This is your headcanon my guy
Zoro vs mihawk will be Zoro’s last fight and Luffy vs the final villain will Luffy’s last fight and the last fight of the series.
everything else you are making up is your headcanon and you’re using your headcanon to dictate what’s possible
To Zoro they are… Zoro’s entire story is leading to one and only one thing
Zoro cannot have the climax of his story occur AND THEN he does more random shit afterwards… that’s the definition of backward storytelling
It is… Zoro’s most important and emotional fight will of course be Zoro’s final fight
And that true for every character
Luffy’s most emotional and important fight will also be his final fight
same for Sanji, Robin, Chopper, Usopp, Franky, Jimbei, Brook, all of them
For this to not be true...
What I imagine is that Zoro is a character who is written to have narrative momentum and cohesion
Zoro’s character is complete when he achieves his dream. That’s all.
There is no plot point that will matter to Zoro as much as this.
there will be no emotional moment that matters to Zoro as...
@Paperchampion23 no you should definitely power scale them
Oda will… Oda will obviously maintain a consistent power scale when making such match ups
for example, Luffy must always be way stronger than Zoro… So Luffy’s opponents must also be WAY STRONGER than Zoro’s opponents
if Luffy is...
As long as Mihawk is the Strongest swordsman in the world, he will be Zoro’s final opponent
zoro is not going to fight the strongest swordsman in the world, and then fight some other rando afterwards
Narratively the obvious final fight Zoro has must be the Zoro’s most important and invested fight where he achieves his dream… right?
as in Zoro’s final fight has to be with the WSS
narratively it makes no sense for Zoro’s final fight to be less interesting and meaningful than a fight had before
