No it makes sense. Admirals are just built different.

While there is some merit in what you’re saying, aka this could be a scene to show Luffy’s progression, I think that there needs to be some tension. The alliance did kind of just wash two emperors. We need something to build up the endgame.

Not just action, but in every action movie or action clip from a movie I’ve seen him in there’s always a scene where he takes on a shit ton of people at once. It can’t be a coincidence that he’s walking up to an alliance that in theory he shouldn’t stand a chance against

Well, the WG and marines are presumably EOS antagonists. This would build a shit ton of hype for them, especially since a large segment of readers seem to think the WG is weak. It actually makes more sense narratively than Ryokugyu getting washed.
