Yup that's been my whole thing with Shanks. If it happens, if it's "negative" in a way, the rivalry and history between them has the potential to be super emotional.
Shanks is inherently Luffy's endgame and always has been. At least to a personal level outside of PK
It depends on how you translate the firstpage where it mentions Gear 5.
It technically says it there.

Because that would be redundant since Franky already saved him
I can't tell which rivalry I like more, his with Luffy or Katakuri's. I do like that between both, it comes down to respect. I can't see the same happening with BB or Akainu, but this is honestly great.
Maybe it happens with Shanks too....maybe
Yup, even Oda has been hinting at it. Last 2 jump festa's have talked about his mysteriousness and teasing it.
Something is definitely up, whether its good or bad news for Luffy
The question still remains though:
- Did they know Shanks stole the fruit from them? WsW did.
- Why do they talk so casually to Shanks if Luffy inherited that fruit and even his trademark strawhat from him?
Why would these men ever discuss things with him if he's royally fucking them over...
Ok, that I can understand. That's not a bad point.
I'm still not 100% convinced they knew everything though, because amongst themselves they cast doubt on the situation and even question why the WG would give the fruit a different name.
That implies they didnt know things before a certain...
No they knew they went after the fruit for 800 years. There's nothing proving they knew it was Nika.
Reread 1037. One of the Gorosei literally say "it's impossible!" In regards to Luffy's fruit awakening.
They were going after Robin, then went after Luffy. The reason is unexplained

Not really. Reread 1037. They didn't care about Luffy until Zunisha arrived or something else. Literally in 1 page they changed their goals.
In 1041, they tell CP-0 to change theirs. You are missing the context as to why they did it.
The difference is, those moves where the last moves they ever used. In those instances, Luffy won at their strongest. Luffy did not win that clash, even if there was interference. It wasn't even suggested he'd bring Kaido down with that last OKG, and we can't really know because it hasn't been...
And I gave the doflamingo comparison, then you didn't like it. Lmao.
And you said, based on 1042, both characters were fighting at their peak, except Luffy was the only person exclaiming that he's using his strongest move twice (i.e. 1 final time).
So I'll ask again, where in 1042 was it...
Bro. Look in the mirror. This whole conversation started because you didn't like that I used Doflamingo as a comparable argument when he used awakening after Luffy went Gear 4.
Apparently that's now a "wack" comparison because you say so lmao, even though it's literally the same fucking thing...
Tbh, I'm not disagreeing with you. I'd love it if he could reform an object to a rubber spear or staff.
I gotta see more how Gear 5 fights. We've definitely haven't seen enough and I have a feeling next chapter is going to be pretty badass on how this form actually works

All I'll...
Funny. You are " waiting" to see yet you said this when I first responded to you:
I like how in nearly every argument I make with people, its not about the argument, it's about me "responding" or "criticising" another posters viewpoint solely, like it's fucking personal lol.
I also like...
This is all I've been trying to say. If he doesn't use it soon (i.e. teased by the end of next chapter or in dialogue), then yes it should be assumed he doesn't have it.
But let's wait and see. Oda never made it clear about awakening for Kaido or BM. Frankly, he's only done so with Luffy, Kid...
