Idk I have more faith, simply because Oda has seemingly planned it from the beginning (my guess is it all revolves around One Piece, the WG National Treasure, and the Ancient Weapons), the only things that have changed probably is the number of characters included at least.
It's amazing how people can see exactly what Shanks did on the page alone (you see Green Bull put up his hands BEFORE he realizes its the RHP), and continue to downplay him.
Actual cope right before our eyes lol.
Imo, I think we confuse his chivalry for purely good intention. He is very much about peace and bringing the new era. He is also very much a believer that Luffy is probably the bringer of this new era.
However, that all depends on his intentions for Luffy and their meeting. Remember, we still...
I'm not so sure about that though. Sabo isn't a direct competitor as a pirate. Luffy has directly exclaimed multiple times that he needs to defeat the Yonko (which includes Shanks and Blackbeard) to be PK. The first time he singles out Shanks.
I recall this being a very surprising moment in PH...
True, i guess we'll have to wait and see how "well" or not this was orchestrated by him.
The real question comes down to why now of all times I guess. He very obviously waited for Luffy to become a great pirates, but I'm just dying to know what his role is in the end.
One extreme obviously...
I don't know if he's leading him anywhere directly. Shanks hasn't really influenced Luffy's future save for actually providing him with the Gomu Fruit. We can see from the flashback that this and losing his arm are seemingly intentional (?).
Im not saying hes some insane mastermind, but...
Which one lol?
I'd find that sort of hard to beleive, considering the Gorosei scene especially (people whod never relinquish to freedom). I'd sooner believe it has to do with peace and prosperity, but at the expense of control, which is why he's leading Luffy down a particular road.
Imho, its:
- Elbaf villain (someone new or maybe it's tied to Vegapunk/Kuma)
- Lodestar/Laugh Tale will be transitional/heavily lore based, or Laugh Tale is central to the Final War at least.
**Final War is 3 parts:
- Akainu/Marines at New Marineford
- Im/Gorosei/WG at Mariejois (leads...
It's Order vs Chaos. Peace vs Violence. Both involve control of a new era in their own way. Luffy doesn't, and prefers full freedom. This is how both Yonko's despise each other and yet can still act as antagonists to Luffy. This is why Shanks can talk to Gorosei, and how BB is the second coming...
Shanks has been shown feats like this for years bruh. If you think Film Red has changed anything, think again:
Yes, all of this to promote Film Red. Ask yourself why Oda does this for Shanks and not Mihawk lol.
It's the classic "Mihawk takes baseless credit for any other swordman" gimmick. People like to treat Mihawk as some sort of grifter to who deserves credit for things instead of actual portrayal. Apparently haki is now swordsmanship exclusively, and because he's the WSS, any feat performed by...
Kidding, it's less. It's only 6 pages.
Momo/Aramaki stuff is most of the chapter (with Shanks included)
But really....are we complaining about lore stuff taking up pages? It's really important to the arc lmao
